Good Times Are Coming

Well this week has been a fairly good one for Newcastle United Football Club (unless you are Keiron Dyer). We won twice, against Reading and Blackburn Rovers, against which many pundits predicted defeats heading our way.

I went to the Reading game on Wednesday, and the atmosphere was just as good - if not better - than that against Portsmouth. We eventually ran out winners, beating Reading 3-2. Antoine Sibierski scored a header from a Nobby Solano cross. Obafemi Martins scored a penalty, and Emre scored the goal of the season (Matt Taylor’s has to be a fluke (again)).

We played Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. We would appear to have been more comfortable as the scoreline suggested - we won 3-1. But there are times in the game, particularly at the beginning of each half, where we are a bit shaky. Obafemi Martins scored a good goal with a perfect run. Steven Taylor scored from point blank, and did his usual celebration of running round screaming. Obafemi Martins then finished, scoring into an empty net.

Dave, I wouldn’t worry, at least you don’t support Charlton… Anyway, you might feel differently after the Manchester United game.

And Shell, there is nothing *snore* about football. :P
