About

Who I Am

I was born in Ashington, Northumberland on 11th September 1985 (that makes me 22). I moved not long after with my parents to Sittingbourne, Kent and became a semi-naturalised Man of Kent. My primary education started at The Butts School (now Milton Court) and continued at Middletune School (now Regis Manor). I passed my Eleven Plus and went to Borden Grammar School.

I now live in Cramlington, Northumberland.

What I Do

I’m a final year undergraduate student at Newcastle University. I’m studying Maths, and hope to finish this year. My dissertation subject is algebraic topology, with particular emphasis on homology groups. I’m an active member of the Stop AIDS Society, for whom I maintain the website.

I’m a part time website designer and developer, having designed websites such as Nerja Sol and Bounce DMT & Trampoline Club.

What I Like

I love music — that is my first love. I prefer rock music, but I am certainly not bound to it. In particular, I enjoy listening to Queen and Dream Theater. I also (try to) play several instruments, including guitar, bass and keyboards. I also picked up the recorder for the first time in years recently!

I also love my football. Newcastle United is my team, and I am a season ticket holder with them and attend every home match. It is a peculiar passion to endure such heartache at times, but nonetheless I continue to watch!

One of my peculiar pleasures is receiving mail. I love to hear from people, and I take the time to respond to every item of mail I receive.

What This Is

This blog is an outlet for my thoughts and opinions. It has always been that and little more. The result is that what you read on here you will not often get to see elsewhere. I welcome comments and I endeavour to reply to the majority.

This site is made from my own customised theme, Flavio. It is powered by the marvellous WordPress. It uses icons from Fam Fam Fam’s silk and flag collections.
